- Boarding Life
Weekdays at UWA Boarding are shaped by a routine that is active, academic, and quietly formative. Students move through each day with purpose and leave each week a little more capable than when it began.
- Active Mornings
Up, Out, and Ready
The day begins on the field with students engaging in morning fitness activities, jogging, and sports coaching under the guidance of qualified coaches. After preparing for the day and sharing breakfast with their peers, students head into their academic programme energised and ready to learn.
- Academic Learning
A Day Driven by International Curriculum
Boarders attend classes as part of the full academic timetable, following the Cambridge Pathways and IB programmes offered at UWA. These globally recognised frameworks challenge students to think critically and engage deeply with their subjects, equipping them with the skills and knowledge that carry well beyond the classroom.
- After-School Academic Support
Support That Makes the Difference
Each afternoon, students attend structured support classes in Mathematics and English, with additional subject support available where needed. These sessions help reinforce classroom learning, strengthen understanding, and build academic confidence.
- Evening Sport and Recreation
Sport Before Supper
Post-prep session students return to the field for supervised evening sports. Rotating through football, basketball, and other pursuits under the guidance of qualified coaches, they continue to develop teamwork, fitness, and confidence. These sessions are often among the most eagerly anticipated parts of the boarding day.
- Evening Study
Revisiting What Was Learned
Following a brief break and shower, students attend supervised study sessions in dedicated classrooms. Junior and senior boarders study in separate rooms, overseen by resident teachers. This time is used for revision, reflection, and independent work, helping students consolidate and deepen their learning.
- Communication Time
Time to Ring Home
Following dinner, students are given dedicated time to connect with parents, family, and loved ones. Mobile phones, securely held by House Parents throughout the day, are returned during this period before being collected again later in the evening to support a calm and restful end to the day.
- Senior Study Period
An Extra Hour for Senior Boarders
Senior boarders benefit from an additional self-directed study period, providing dedicated time for revision, extended reading, coursework, and project work while encouraging increasing independence and responsibility.
